B 9 Chairs (Thonet), signed
As one the artists of the Bauhaus 100-Jubilee Residence in 2019 Jay Gard designed three editions of Marcel Breuer’s B 9 chair from 1926 in collaboration with the Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau and Thonet GmbH. For his color concept he used Grete (Margaretha) Reichardt’s color design of a carpet for a children’s room from 1929. She was one of the most talented students at the Bauhaus back then.
